At Ecoprod everything we do is designed to minimise both our carbon footprint as an organisation and that of the products that we sell. We are also fully signed up to the principles of the circular economy, focused on eliminating waste, reusing resources, and preserving and regenerating natural systems.
Carbon-neutral manufacturing
We try and minimise the environmental impact of the manufacturing processes of all our products. For example, the URIMAT waterless manufacturing process is entirely carbon neutral and uses 100% renewable energy.
Durable products
We work with suppliers who produce durable products that will last a long time once installed and that can be fully recycled once they reach their end of life. Additionally, we provide products that can be both installed into new builds and also retrofitted into existing washrooms so it is not necessary for clients to do a lot of additional work in order to be able to use our products.
The spares and consumables for all our products are available for many years after the supply of the initial installation, this helps ensure a long life and provides clients with cost certainty, with access to parts to keep products working as long as possible to protect investment and provide years of sustainable solutions.
With products such as CONTI+ taps, the body of the tap can remain in position for as long as the building is operated by a client. Should there be a need to refurbish the item this can be achieved by just changing singular components such as the solenoid, sensor or electronics, all for a fraction of the cost of replacing a new item completely. This minimises the effect on the environment from the delivery journey as well as being more economical for our clients.
Minimise logistics
We prefer regional partnerships where possible in order to minimise long transportation chains for our products. We also encourage clients to order in bulk wherever possible to reduce the number of deliveries needed. We use video conferencing as much as we can in order to avoid unnecessary travel. Every member of our team considers the environmental impact of travel before confirming plans to meet clients.
We are constantly challenging our suppliers on their delivery and we hold increased stocks to reduce down the number of transportation movements.
We are always considering packaging and whether cardboard boxes can be used multiple times. We are also looking into the use of alternative packaging to plastics which we hope to realise in the future.
Design out waste
Suppliers such as URIMAT are continually looking for opportunities to reduce waste. For example, URIMAT avoids plastic bags for packaging wherever possible, it uses only cardboard packaging of recycled material. As a company it avoids printing by having fully digitised processes. It produces no toxic waste and recycles all its waste according to Swiss standards.
Reduced raw materials
URIMAT urinals are also much lighter than other urinals, meaning that CO2 is saved throughout the entire distribution chain. All our manufacturing partners are constantly striving to look at improved ways to mitigate waste and look to reuse and re-purpose raw materials where possible. This is also true of the entire supply chain from component into the factory to the final goods on site installed.
This also impacts the life expectancy of the products supplied in that we are looking to achieve longer life expectancy to the user by providing training on products along with minimal spares which can be utilised over many ranges of product that we deliver.
End of life recycle
URIMAT waterless urinals are made from high-tech plastic which can be fully recycled.
